I’ve been having this issue for days where I have wanted to make the background of my site black, but once I change it in the customize section, it looks good while I’m building the site, but changes to white background with black text when I go into preview mode. No matter what colors I pick it does this. I used additional CSS to make the background black and it worked, but no matter what I tried the header/masthead font color was black. I’m having a similar issue. I’ve just spent the last hour trying to get my background photo to change, but it won’t…..
Try checking on your site in incognito mode. I found none of my changes showed up because Chrome was caching my site — but they were actually live.
